Girls' Brigade at Peninsula City Church exists to glorify God through equipping the girls and young women of our community with life skills and community awareness, enabling them to build their Christian faith in a safe and secure environment.
Girls' Brigade is an international, uniformed, achievement based organisation operating around the globe through local churches. Girls and Leaders are challenged weekly in building relationships with God and with others, learning new things and in service to their community.
We welcome girls from all walks of life from ages 5-21 years to engage in new experiences and find new opportunities to achieve their full potential.
About Girls' Brigade
Girls’ Brigade is a relationship building, achievement based program which has been developed especially for girls, incorporating physical, social, educational and spiritual aspects.
The program is designed to be challenging, exciting, interactive and relevant allowing the girls to achieve growth in all aspects of their lives. Our Leaders are fully trained and each company provides a safe and encouraging environment in which girls can explore all areas of their lives.
Girls’ Brigade is an international, interdenominational organisation and has been serving churches around the world for 115 years and in Australia for 81 years.
Companies meet each week and girls regularly take part in crafts, games, camps and outings, but also are challenged through discovering more about God, serving in the community and learning leadership and living skills. Girls Brigaders form friendships with other girls, not only from within company, but sometimes even from other parts of the world.
Whilst Girls’ Brigade companies come in all shapes and sizes no matter the location
or structure the unifying aim remains the same. Girls’ Brigade exists “to help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life”. Our vision is to see girls come into a relationship with a living God and to be able to actively and enthusiastically express their love for God and others. We believe that when girls are equipped, motivated and engaged in passionately living out their faith, they have the potential to be community and world changers.
