We appreciate the importance of protecting your personal information and recognise the trust placed in us when you supply your personal information to us. We are bound by the National Privacy Principles (“NPPs”) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) (“Privacy Act”) in the way we handle personal information. To comply with the NPPs and in recognition of your trust in us, we have implemented a privacy policy. This policy explains how we handle personal information relating to individuals. Nothing in this policy limits any of our other obligations at law. Terminology “The Church”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Peninsula City Church Inc and its associated Registered Care Department, Peninsula Christian Care. “Personal information” means information or an opinion about an individual whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion. Information Collection, Use and Disclosure We only collect personal information to the extent that this is necessary for the Church’s primary purpose of providing ministry services. It is therefore only used for the primary purpose of collection, and for such other secondary purposes that are related to the primary purpose of collection and which you would reasonably expect, or to which you have consented. This information would therefore only be disclosed to those who, in assisting the Church in its ministry functions, require such information. The Church’s staff and volunteers are required to respect the confidentiality of individuals’ personal information and the privacy of individuals. Updating Personal Information The Church endeavours to ensure that the personal information it holds is accurate, complete and up-to-date. A person may seek to update or check the accuracy of the personal information held by the Church about them by contacting the Church Office at any time to make an appropriate appointment.
