Peninsula Christian Care

Peninsula Christian Care is the Community arm of Peninsula City Church and is a registered charity with Tax Deductible status for donations over $2.  We provide a range of community services including the following;

The Care House

The Care House is a place where groups of people come to support one another through activities and diverse groups such as art classes, woodwork, support groups etc. The Care House provides a place for people to belong and feel safe through building authentic relationships and community. Having someone who can spend the time talking through issues and discovering real solutions is an important part of the ministry of Peninsula Christian Care.

Pantry Plus

Pantry Plus offers food provision and holistic support for those in need. The Pantry Plus recognises that all those seeking assistance deserve to be treated with care, compassion and respect. We extend non-judgmental and empathic support, seeking to share the hope and acceptance that Christ generously extends to all people.
The pantry is filled with basic essentials, non perishable goods, toiletries and frozen meals.  We recognise that poverty is not merely about lack of resources but the inability to manage them. Poverty of resources leads to poverty in social inclusion. Our aim is to give people a hand up (community development) not just a hand out (mercy ministry). This will be done respecting the individual’s dignity and capacity to manage their own resources, and recognising their ability to be a contributor to society.
If you are in need of food assistance, bookings are essential and can be made through the church office between 10am and 3pm Mon, Wed, Thurs. The Pantry run every Tuesday from 10.00 am to 1.45pm (no bookings for pantry will be taken on Tuesdays).  Please call our office to discuss your particular needs and to arrange a time to come to the food pantry. If you are wanting to donate to Pantry Plus, we gladly welcome donations of non-perishable items that can be dropped off at the church.

Emergency Food Relief

As part of our Care House ministry we are able to provide meals for people in the community  who have emergency needs.  Our kitchen produces a variety of meals with both an Australian and Indian flavour with some of the ingredients coming from our very own Care House garden.  These meals are frozen and packs are available for distribution on a case by case basis.
We are able to offer frozen meals food assistance on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on an appointment basis. Please call our office on the number below to discuss your particular needs and to arrange a time to come in to our offices.

Art Classes

Art is a fantastic way to express yourself and relax.  At the care house we have art groups that suit anyone from beginners to the more advanced.  You can join with others who have a similar interest and can learn how to give your artwork that special extra touch

No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS)

Peninsula City Church helps to coordinate a No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) for people seeking financial assistance to pay for essential goods and services in the Frankston South area.  Click here for more information about what loans are for and how to apply.  When you are ready to go ahead with a loan, please call us and we will make a loan application appointment for you.

Prison Support for women

Peninsula Christian Care actively encourages support of women and their families in and exiting prison. Both the community chaplain and care volunteers partner with Prison Network. Prison Network is a Christian charity that provides holistic support to inspire change and restoration in the lives of women and their families who are, or who have been in Victoria's prisons.

Prison Network facilitates a range of in-prison programs and post-release support providing the opportunity for women to connect with a network of staff and volunteers who can provide long term support.

Our community chaplain can provide referrals to appropriate community services in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area based on individual needs.
