Cross Road
Today in PenCC Kids we spoke about how Jesus the Messiah was God’s plan all along.
Our discussions today helped us to;
* know that Jesus the Messiah died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins.
* understand that it’s only through Jesus that we can have a relationship with God.
* discover the gospel account of Jesus and the sinner on the cross.
PLAYTIME LEARNING ACTIVITY
Supplies Needed: Toy cars, play mat with roads or make a road track with masking tape on the ground.
Children can play with the toy cars driving them along the track. As they play, talk about how at a crossroad they can choose which way their car goes.
A crossroad is where two roads intersect and you can choose to go one way or another way. At a crossroad you make a decision. We make lots of decisions in our lives but the most important choice we can make is choosing to follow Jesus.
Family Activity: Ask your kids the following questions.
1. What happened after Jesus died on the cross?
(Jesus was taken down from the cross and placed in a tomb where three days later, the greatest miracle of all would take place. Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb, He came alive again! He defeated sin and death!)
3. Who made a way so we could be saved?
(Jesus! There’s only one way to be saved - and that’s through Jesus!)
Pray Together
Dear God,
Thank You that You sent Jesus for us. Help us to always remember the incredible sacrifice Jesus made when He died and rose again for us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
